OCD Skills Group
Learn practical tools to step out of OCD’s doubt cycle — together.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) can feel isolating, overwhelming, and exhausting. Intrusive thoughts, images, urges, and doubt-driven fears can pull you into cycles that are hard to break alone. Our OCD Skills Group is designed to help you build effective, evidence-based skills in a supportive group setting so you can regain trust in yourself and live more freely.
This group integrates Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to address OCD at both the belief level and the behavioral level.
Who This Group Is For
This group is ideal for individuals who:
Have been diagnosed with OCD or experience obsessive-compulsive symptoms
Struggle with intrusive thoughts, mental or physical compulsions, reassurance-seeking, or avoidance
Want structured, practical tools — not just talk therapy
Would benefit from learning alongside others who truly “get it”
Need trauma informed care
You do not need to be “severe” or “at your worst” to benefit. Many participants join while already in individual therapy or as a first step toward OCD-specific treatment.
What You’ll Learn
This is a skills-based group focused on understanding and responding differently to OCD. Topics include:
Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) Skills
Understanding OCD as a disorder of doubt, not danger
Identifying the OCD story and how imagination replaces present-moment reality
Learning how OCD creates false inferences and convinces you something is wrong
Rebuilding trust in your senses, perceptions, and lived experience
Practicing how to step out of hypothetical “what if” thinking and back into reality-based reasoning
ERP & Behavioral Skills
Understanding compulsions, safety behaviors, and reassurance-seeking
Learning how to reduce compulsive responses (both physical and mental)
Practicing response prevention in a structured, supportive way
Tolerating uncertainty without trying to neutralize or “solve” OCD
Building confidence through values-based action
Maintenance & Relapse Prevention
Recognizing early signs of OCD pulling you back in
Responding skillfully without self-criticism
Creating a long-term plan for sustained progress
Group therapy offers powerful benefits for OCD recovery:
Reduce shame and isolation by connecting with others who share similar experiences
Normalize intrusive thoughts and doubt-driven fears
Learn from others’ questions, insights, and progress
Practice skills in real time with support and guidance
A cost-effective way to receive specialized OCD treatment
Many participants find it deeply relieving to hear others describe the same thoughts they believed were “just them.”
